The value of our technology lies in matching the data users enter into forms within the NexProfiler™ treatment option tools with NexCura's database of relevant scientific information. We take users' privacy seriously and are committed to ensuring that their personal, identifiable information remains strictly confidential. The following statements describe the information gathering and dissemination policies and practices at NexCura.
Contacting Our Users
At NexCura, we do not contact users of our tools unless they first request that we contact them, have given us permission to contact them, or must be contacted in the event that a problem has been detected with their account. We do not provide our users' contact information to any outside parties without the users' expressed consent.
Data Collection
The forms in the NexProfiler treatment option tools require users to enter contact information (e-mail address, for example), and medical information (test results and medical history, for example). Medical information is used to query the NexCura database and provide users with a personalized information package. Medical information, but not personal contact information, may be shared with the company's partners on an aggregate basis only. NexCura does not share any information that could be linked to users' identities without their expressed permission.
Data Security
Where personal information is entered and viewed, NexCura has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse, and alteration of the information under our control. To ensure that the data transferred between a user's Web connection and NexCura's is not viewed by anyone but the user, we employ a powerful Web site encryption technology called Secure Socket Layer (SSL). This SSL connection protects the data conveyed on the Web through the tools, preventing others from gathering and viewing that information.
NexCura's Web servers are located at Thomson's North American Data Center. The Data Center offers a high-speed, high-availability Internet connection backed by a redundant network infrastructure and advanced, proprietary security technologies. Firewalls and intrusion detection systems protect our networks from unauthorized access. Access to the Web server is restricted to a few key NexCura employees. All data entered in the NexCura database is regularly backed up, and the backup media is securely stored to prevent loss or damage. NexCura performs regular audits of our data security practices to ensure our systems are secure and conform to these requirements.
